Within the new €120M A350 factory at Broughton, Flintshire based Hollingsworth Bros (Part of the Hollingsworth Group of companies) have worked together with local firm Electroimpact to construct impressive concrete plinths that form the backbone of the wing constructing jigs – on time and on budget.

This precision work of engineering consisted of 8 concrete plinths constructed from 1000m3 Of Concrete, 400 tonnes of steelwork and 3000m2 of permanent moulds. The impressive structures stand 4.5m above the factory floor and painstakingly constructed whilst technically dust sensitive tooling operations progressed around the construction site. This enabled the plinths to be handed over ahead of schedule allowing Electroimpact to begin the jig build early.

The project continues the partnership between the Hollingsworth Group and local based companies which includes Airbus, Great Bear, Electroimpact to name but a few.
